Another UNIBEN Student Murdered by Unknown Assailants

Just under two weeks after a student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), was murdered inside the university’s campus, another student, identified as James, was shot dead by unknown gunmen.

The 300 level student of Vocational and Technical Education, was said to have been killed Tuesday night at Ekosodin, a satellite community of Ugbowo campus of the university.

The corpse of the deceased student was deposited at the Accident and Emergency Ward of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) immediately after the incident by the Police.

An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, said James was on his way home at about 11p.m. after watching a football match at one of the viewing centres in the community, when he was shot by his assailants. He died on the spot.
