Secondary School Student Kills Senior Prefect With Charmed Ring

Tragedy struck at Modebe Secondary School, Onitsha, Anambra State, as a student of the school allegedly slapped and killed the senior prefect with something believed to be a “charmed ring”.

The 17-year-old senior prefect, Chukwuebuka Okanume, was said to have queried the suspect, an SS1 student, for dressing shabbily but met his untimely death after his assailant struck him with the ring as they got into a heated argument.

When contacted, the state Police PRO, Mr. Uche Ezeh, confirmed the incident and said that the junior student was now being interrogated by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to ascertain the source of the ring.

The principal of the school, Mr. Ralph Machie, declined further comments until the police are through with their investigation.
